Lute

The last project that we did in FabLab is a lute. The lute is a stringed instrument having a large pear-shaped body, a vended back, a fingerboard, and a head with tuning pegs wich is often angled backward from de neck.
During the Renaissance the lute held the highest respect of all musical instruments, and the most eloquent of all solo instruments.

Now in FabLab we are doing a lute.
The lute is a stringed musical instrument that has a long, fretted neck and a hollow, typically pear-shaped body with a vaulted back.

The European lute and the modern Near-Eastern onre descend from a common ancestor via divergent evolutionary paths. The lute is used in a great variety of instrumental in the music from the Medieval to the late Baroque eras and was the most important instrument for saecular music in the Renaissance. It is also an accompanying instrument, especially in vocal compositions, often realizing a basso continuo or playing a written-out accompaniment. The player of a lute is called a lutenist, lutanist or lutist, and a maker of lutes (or any similar string instrument) is referred to as a luthier.

El nostre llaüt

Ara al FabLab estem fent un llaüt,instrument de corda, amb fusta. Hem d'aconseguir que el llaüt sigui  petit i molt semblant a un normal (amb totes les seves característiques i parts pròpies). El major repte d'aquest projecte és fer la caixa de resonància perque havièm de pensar una idea per crearla amb fusta, que tingui volum i forma de caixa de ressonància. Al principi ens vam centrar més en fer el rosetó (una de les característiques de la taula harmònica) però desprès ens vam centrar en el llaüt perque el projecte es tracta sobre fer el llaüt.
Les mesures del llaüt estan fetes proporcionalment. Hem intentat fet una estructura amb alguns encaixos per no utilitzar molta silicona.
